Adyen’s Tap to Pay on iPhone is now available in Switzerland and eight additional European countries
Adyen, a global financial technology platform for large corporations and an exhibitor at NRF Retail’s Big Show Europe, has announced that Tap to Pay on iPhone has been activated in nine new markets: Bulgaria, Finland, Hungary, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Switzerland and Liechtenstein. For Alexa von Bismarck, President EMEA at Adyen, this network extension is a real plus for Adyen customers and consumers alike: “Tap To Pay on iPhone is as easy to use for shoppers as it is beneficial for the company. Consumers are demanding a complete experience that only an in-store visit can provide. But for that to happen, it’s essential that the payment experience doesn’t get in the way of the overall experience.”
Three benefits
By providing the ability to make payments anywhere in-store, accepting all forms of contactless payments, including credit and debit cards, Apple Pay and other digital wallets, with high levels of security, reliability and scalability and without the need to invest in additional hardware, Tap To Pay on iPhone is a game-changer in the nine markets involved, with a range of benefits that Adyen sums up in three points:
- Simplify in-store purchases by eliminating dependence on payment hardware via a complementary means of accepting payments and avoiding queues,
- Offer fast, secure payment experiences, increasing mobility at the point of sale,
- Offer customers a convenient and secure means of payment, with encrypted transactions and payment data protected by the same technology as Apple Pay.
